Pontoon
The internal "Pontoon" floating screens are internal floating devices for the control of emissions. This type of screen is suitable for all kinds of fixed roof storage tanks, both for the deposit of crude oil and refining products. The purpose of this internal floating roof is the minimization of vapors from the stored product. This system reduces emissions and losses due to evaporation of the stored product, which reduces corrosion and oxidation of the elements, which means a reduction in polluted air and long-term cost savings.
Designed and constructed in accordance with API 650 Standard Appendix H.
The roof consists of an interconnected network with a high resistance-weight ratio, allowing the use of tubular pontoons and extruded beams thanks to the low level of air pollution and the corrosion resistance of aluminum.
The floating pontoons and the structural elements of the screen provide the maximum flotation and resistance to the loads generated by the turbulence of the products and by the inspection personnel. The components can be introduced into the tank through the existing manhole and the legs can be adjusted to the slope of the bottom of the tank.
