Internally coated tanks and storage containers are also at risk of corroding. Internal cathodic protection (ICP) is a safe technique designed to effectively protect storage containers. It only requires that there be an electrolyte solution (e.g. industrial liquids, drinking water, cooling water or service water) present in sufficient quantities. Internal tank components such as heating elements, cooling elements and internal separators can also be included in the ICP.
