CP Measurement Converter
Classic remote data monitoring systems and PLCs are inadequate for recording CP measurement data. Among other things, the available measurement inputs do not have the input impedance required to take a potential measurement. They are also very sensitive and susceptible to external interference, a phenomenon that unfortunately occurs often with CP systems.
As a rule, the alternating voltages often found with CP systems are not sufficiently attentuated and lead to false measurements. Potential-free measurements are rare. Using CP measurement converters however, such as the Steffel MU 2011, is a suitable method for recording CP measurements on your existing PLC system.
The MU 2011 has the necessary measurement input characteristics and converts the CP potential and current input signals (via a 60mA shunt) into a 0/4-20mA output signal, which can then be processed by the standard telecontrol and PLC systems.
