Primary Packaging

Primary packaging in the pharmaceutical industry refers to the immediate container or material that directly holds and protects the drug product. This includes items such as blister packs, bottles, vials, ampoules, and syringes. Designed to maintain the integrity, safety, and efficacy of the medication, primary packaging ensures protection from contamination, degradation, and physical damage while providing critical information and dosage instructions.
Technical Specifications
Transport: Transport systems tailored to your specific containers, products, and production requirements facilitate quick product changes and adjustments in the process sequence.
Forming: Specialized blister packs for IVD devices require our tools to shape product components made from paper, non-wovens, plastic, or aluminum foil before filling. For small portion packs, it is often essential to pre-form these packaging parts. We provide integrated tools for shaping plastic and aluminum foils, as well as paper and non-woven inserts.
Filling: Filling technology ensures accurate dosing and filling of powders, liquids, or solids into packaging, while also eliminating the risk of contamination to both the product and the packaging.
Punching & Sealing: Producing small portion packs requires precise coordination of sealing time, pressure, and temperature with the sealing materials, which can be challenging. Seams need to be perfectly secure, and for some applications, the lids must be designed to be easily peelable.
High Barrier: High-barrier packaging protects what makes your product so special.
