ContraFlame® / Riser Protection
The ContraFlame® riser protection system provides integrated thermal insulation and jet fire protection with corrosion resistance and impact protection. It meets the Total GS SAF337 specification for the protection of production risers.

ContraFlame® riser protection was designed to meet the TOTAL specification GS SAF 337 for riser applications.
- Up to J120 protection on planar and tubular scenarios
- High integrity anti-corrosion protection with jointless, seamless D2004 GRP laminate system
- Up to 120 minutes hydrocarbon jet fire protection
- Comprises of 90mm of C50 phenolic foam and an 8-layer D2004 GRP laminate.

Production risers provide a critical conduit between subsea infrastructure and topside production facilities via rigid or flexible pipes/risers. A combination of gas and liquid under pressure within the riser can result in multiple critical safety scenarios including accidental release and jet fire.
